One of the main successes of the post second world war period was the creation of the NHS, yet almost since its inception successive Westminster Governments have set about undermining it. This has been done through chronic underfunding, privatisation and very low wages for the majority of workers.
The impact of the pandemic has shone light on underlying issues. Waiting times for cancer operations across the UK are the longest on record. Things are no better in Scotland, where the no. of people on waiting lists is over 500K - the highest since figures were recorded. At the beginning of the pandemic, many people, including elected politicians, stopped whatever they were doing to show appreciation of key workers. However, when it came to a pay rise for NHS workers, the UK Govt imposed an insulting 3% in 2021 and again offered 3% in 2022.
In Scotland the 2021 pay award was increased to 4% by the Scottish Govt. Both of these fall way short of the 15% that workers sought. The ideological cost-of-living crisis is ensuring NHS workers North & South of the border will be poorer, with wages falling behind inflation. This compares with how the Tory bandits have treated their friends and donors throughout the pandemic, having lined their pockets with tens of billions of pounds in bogus contracts.
It couldn't be clearer that in this so called 'Union of equals' it is Scotland itself which is underfunded- despite being rich in wealth and resources. With independence Scotland will flourish.
SCOTLAND CANT WAIT SET THE DATE π΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώ
The Scottish Govt have promised a referendum before the end of 2023. We call for the First Minister and Govt to assert self determination and put the Legislation through Parliament now. Now is the time for bold action to ignite the campaign.
By Scotland becoming an independent country, we will for once have the capacity to seriously protect and fund our NHS, and pay our NHS and Social Care workers a decent wage. Independence will empower us to set our own law on immigration, enabling us to decide that workers our NHS needs to function are welcomed and not persecuted by racist, inhumane policies. Independence opens up the potential to develop a world class health & social care service that meets the needs of everyone regardless of their wealth and ability to pay. As such, a properly and publicly funded NHS is a vital element of any vision of an independent Scotland.
Defending our NHS is a clear and present reason to take to the streets of Glasgow on 14 May. Defending our NHS is a call for boots on the ground to declare our opposition to the rotten, unequal Union, and express our powerful demand for independence now. The effects of the Union cause ongoing harm to millions of Scots. Now is the time to escalate the fight for an Independent Country which is centred upon fairness, equality, and the principle of Universal free health care for all. Independence is a National health emergency.

We proudly invite Independence supporters to join the All Under One Banner 'SCOTLAND AGAINST RACISM' Indybloc on the Stand up to Racism all Scotland demonstration in Glasgow on March 19.
We will be marching alongside fellow campaigners to make it clear that our vision of an Independent Scotland is one that is anti racist, and one that welcomes the positive contribution that migrants have made and continue to make to our economy and multi cultural society.
We are opposed to the racist scapegoating of migrants and the hostile environment being whipped up against immigrant communities. We are determined to show that the independence movement in Scotland stands in solidarity with all those challenging racism across the world.
This demonstration is an important opportunity to send out a clear message that we look forward to living in an independent Country that is welcoming, diverse and multicultural. As Robert Burns put it; 'We're all Jock Tamson's Bairns.'
So come along and join the Big Indybloc on the 19 March all Scotland demonstration 'March against Racism' at Glasgow.

One of the consequences of Scotland being tied to the British State is that one in four children in Scotland lives in poverty and this figure is rapidly rising.
Since the start of the pandemic in early 2020 levels of poverty and inequality have risen. Single parent families and people from a minority ethnic background have been particularly badly stricken.
Across the world the ten richest men have seen their wealth double during the covid crisis. Collectively this grew from $700bn to $1.5tn between March 2020 and November 2021. Meanwhile billions of people live in poverty.
In Scotland, Paisley and surrounding areas are some of the poorest in the country. The Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation shows that two of the ten most deprived areas in Scotland lie within the Ferguslie Park area.
The policies and priorities of the UK Government are causing a massive hike in the cost of living: Inflation, benefit cuts, tax rises and galloping energy costs which will disproportionately impact on the poorest in Scotland.
This is a blight on peopleβs lives that touches on every aspect of their wellbeing. It impacts on their mental and physical health, and condemns many children to a life disaffected by hunger and fear, with diminished prospects for the future.
On 5th March All Under One Banner is holding a march for independence at Paisley, March for Independence - Make Poverty History. The effects of the deadly Union cause significant ongoing harm, so let's assert our right of self determination now and make independence happen.
It's simply not good enough to talk about independence without providing a very real vision of how we are going to improve our country in many much needed ways. Independence will enable us to eradicate poverty and improve the health, wealth & happiness of the Scottish people.
Independence will give us the levers and tools to tackle what causes poverty and the problems associated, so we can make our country one in which all Scottish Citizens have a decent and flourishing future. Be there on Saturday 5th March as we March for Independence - Make Poverty History.
