Caroline Welsh is a very experienced advocacy lawyer. She helped set up Lawyers for Yes during the 2014 Scottish Referendum campaign. Here she talks to IndyLive Radio about how Lawyers for Yes can help take forward the independence campaign six years later. As well as her more obvious political concerns, there are plenty of other issues that Caroline cares about - inequalities, WASPI, raptors, and...

The Wings Over Scotland Twitter account was, whether coincidentally or otherwise, banned very shortly after it made this famous quote from “1984” its pinned tweet: So it was only ever a matter of time until this happened: That’s an MSc in maths, an MA in statistics and a PhD student in statistics at Harvard University […]

It better not. Look at the thoroughly nasty spin they are trying to smear on any MP wishing to stand for Holyrood if this goes through. We should want our best power and strength at Holyrood. Those trying to stymie that are only revealing themselves as antidemocratic, petty, frightened, and very small potatoes indeed. It better not go through.

It’s hard to express quite what a revolting piece of hypocrisy this is. Behold some pious little twerp whose own comfy seat in the Scottish Parliament was secured entirely by what he calls “cheating”, saying that nobody but him and his mates are allowed to cheat. Ross Greer, alert readers may recall, snuck into Holyrood on the very […]

No comment needed, really. Sooner or later, you have to stop screaming that anyone pointing out what’s happening is an MI5 plant or a secret Unionist, and either just accept the complete abandonment of the Yes movement by the current SNP leadership or do something about it.

That a national officer and elected members were publicly sharing allegations without due diligence is against SNP code of conduct and shocking behaviour. SNP Women's Pledge statement in response to allegations made on Twitter in attempts to taint and negate SNP branch members' legitimate concerns re proposed reform of the Gender Recognition Act.

“These clients have decided to leave because we did not meet their demands to be re-educated to their point of view,” A literary agency lucky enough to have JK Rowling on its books probably cares little about the departure this week of four largely unknown authors.

So, the good news today is that independence polling is finally back to where it was almost exactly four years ago – 26 June 2016, to be precise. Although we couldn’t help notice that The National’s front-page splash on the latest surge was taking second billing in its readership stats to a day-old story about the […]

Good news, everyone – there’s been another surge. Go back to your constituencies and prepare for indyref2! Yes, again. Because we’ve been here before, haven’t we? The latest polls have seen Yes support “surge” to, um, two points lower than it was four years ago in the immediate wake of the Brexit vote. Except it’s […]
