Scotland has been subsidising the UK since before the 1960s and the discovery of the North Sea Oil. After its disovery, the North Sea Oil made the UK wealthy instead of making Scotland one of the wealthiest nations in the world. Since the 1970s, the UK Government has stolen Scottish Oil and Gas tax revenue away from Scotland to fund the UK. In 1999, the UK establishment secretly reclassified 6,000 square miles of Scottish sea and 7 oil fields giving it to England. Who Subsidies Who? A look at the numbers, not taking oil tax revenue into account, Scotland clearly has been subsidising the UK.


Over 50% of English voters and over 75% of Conservatives still believe Scotland is subsidised by the UK, as seen in the October 2019 Lord Ashcroft Poll. With the English dominating control of Westminster and Scotland's future, the UK Government will remain an English government, serving English priorities and disreguarding the reality and voices of the Scots.
