First Base Foodbank in Dumfries is run by Mark Frankland. The agency delivers food parcels over a huge area and never turns anyone in need away. They need to feed approximately 20,000 people this year.

Scotland... where emigrating isn't just a necessity but an ambition. Scotland, where people either bury ambition for their country or leave. Too many young people have to seek their futures elsewhere, whether that be south of the border or much further afield. We could help change that if we committed to taking our statehood back.

A guest post by my friend Peter Young, who runs the excellent...

Two very important and worthy amendments presented by Tim Rideout and approved at the SNP Annual Conference by members. This is further to amendments approved at the Edinburgh conference in April 2019. Many indy supporters are already aware and approve of an independent Scottish currency for an independent Scotland and Tim lays out the reasons why this is necessary and desirable.

The article below goes quite a way to explaining why Kenny McAskill MP was right to speak about the Calmac ferry situation in Westminster (UK gov also have responsibility here). We have the need, there are solutions, there are professionals/experts ready and willing. Scotgov take note: "The two CMAL/CalMac specified ferries currently still under construction at Ferguson’s, a yard now owned by...

Critical friends are important; we need to listen to them or we learn nothing. Many independence supporters realised a long time ago what Richard Murphy is explaining here about currency and yes, SNP members voted for a Scottish currency at the soonest moment after indy. This is a long read and hopefully indy politicians will take heed, read it, understand it and act upon it. People are way...

With COP26 coming up in Glasgow, this interview with Alex Salmond in September points up he gives his view on how Scotland should be using current resources to fund developments and leading the way in renewables and carbon capture for the benefit of all. Mostly Scotland needs to have power over its own affairs. This is also why Scotland should be front and centre at COP26.

Would you trust a treaty/agreement or any kind signed by this man or his ilk? Nothing has changed since the Treaty of Union "negotiated" with the aid of bribery more than 300 years ago.

A message for the delegates at COP26As Cop26 looms ahead at the end of the month, the World Leaders involved may benefit from the knowledge that the UK is perhaps not the most appropriate venue for…

There is so much over which we should be concerned about violence in all its different forms and the responsibility we all have to improve safety in our society. Especially, now, after the Sarah Everard case there is a lot of navel-gazing going on, but, people need to understand how their behaviour or, indeed, behaviour towards them both in action and language, can have devastating and tragic...

Scotland doesn’t lack the powers to do anything. It lacks the WILL to do anything. A big difference. Both countries are legally equal partners with equal authority to the state and with regard to Scotland, Scotland is a sovereign nation state merely in an agreement which it has the fundamental rig...

Especially at a time when Scotland so obviously needs to extricate itself from the clutches of Westminster and restore its Statehood as a matter of urgency, is Scotgov really making the best use of its legislative powers? Ruth Wishart has taken her time, but, she is questioning priorities.

A proposed draft referendum bill. No opinion stated here, but, perhaps someone can explain how elections can be held in the middle of a pandemic or public openings allowed and restrictions can be removed, no isolation required if pinged in many cases, whilst still in a pandemic (cases going up, then down and back up again). It seems only a referendum campaign requires a "clear end", whatever...

You may question why Scots do not assert the authority of a sovereign country, after all, our MPs are representatives of our country in the Westminster parliament. Scots have made their wishes regarding our Statehood plain by voting for them. Yet Scotland cedes its sovereignty to another country. Who told our parliamentarians to do this... ever?

"Wha sae...
