We are now five days into our virtual walk, run, swim, or cycle to Ingolstadt to raise funds for Maggie’s Centre in Kirkcaldy and are still going strong.
Maggie's Centre is a vital service for people and families who live with cancer and without it many would go without support.
We chose Maggie’s Fife as the recipient of our fundraising as every member of staff in our office has been affected...

I had a very fun visit to The Bairns Group at Torbain Church this morning to see what some of Kirkcaldy’s youngest residents were getting up to.

The Bairns Group supports parents and carers to spend quality time with their kids and specialise in sensory play using songs, messy play, sensory material and baby massage.

The group is really friendly, and everyone had loads of fun at the messy play...

It was great to be in attendance at Paths for All’s 2022 Volunteer Awards last night which was held in the Garden Lobby at Scottish Parliament.

I would like to congratulate an outstanding volunteer from Kirkcaldy, George McDermid, for winning the Active Travel Volunteer the Year for his work delivering meals to vulnerable people in the town throughout the pandemic and beyond.

George is an...

I visited Dysart Primary School and Pathhead Primary School in Kirkcaldy this week as part of World School Milk Day which is today.

Milk is very healthy for growing children and many across Scotland are already entitled to it through different schemes.

The benefits of milk make providing it to children essential, particularly in light of increasing rates of childhood dental decay, obesity and...

To mark Blood Cancer Awareness Month this September, I took part in an event in Parliament to celebrate the nation’s potential stem cell donors on the Anthony Nolan register and raise awareness of the urgent need to diversify the stem cell register.

Anthony Nolan uses its register to match potential stem cell donors to blood cancer patients in desperate need of a stem cell transplant.

It also...

The results of our Independence poll are in, and there can be no doubt what students in Fife think about the case for an independent Scotland.

Speaking with students during Fresher’s week at Fife College, it was interesting to hear their thoughts about the cruel and uncaring policies and priorities of this UK Tory government which are plunging thousands of people into poverty. Rising...

We had an amazing time manning the SNP table at Fife College’s Freshers Week today.

There were lots of students (and tutors) who were very interested in our stall, and I was very impressed with all of the inquisitive young minds that we met.

We’ll be back this Thursday so keep a look out for us!

I would like to say a huge congratulations to everyone who made this year's Fife Pride possible.

The day was a great success with an amazing turnout of revellers.

Well done all – you smashed it!

I raised the question in Parliament yesterday asking what the Scottish Government aims to do to help resolve the ongoing issue of Kinghorn Medical Practice having no GPs.

Humza Yousaf, Cabinet Secretary, said: “The Scottish Government is putting significant amounts of investment into General Practices and practice recruitment.

“The government aims to increase the number of GPs in Scotland by...

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 The Scottish Child Payment is unique to Scotland, the most ambitious child poverty reduction measure in the UK.

📢 We doubled the payment to £20 per week per child in April and the further increase to £25 from November 14th means a rise of 150% in less than eight months.
