The MOD of spending a very large amount of money reinforcing the runway at Lossiemouth to take the P8 Poseidon aircraft. It is going to use Kinloss until the new runway is ready. Like Faslane this is another reason why Westminster does not want to give up. The P8 is not a particularly good aircraft and we have managed without marine patrol aircraft for 10 years.
